About

I’m Valerie Gritsch, a huge fan of history and museums living in New York City. This is where I’ll collect and reflect on visits to exhibits, historic sites, various points of interest, and more. It is also where I’ve hosted ‘Tales from Wo-Fan’s Land’ – a Frank Turner fan project celebrating non-men from history.

I’ve just finished my Master’s degree at The Graduate Center, CUNY. My thesis was on David Bowie fans transforming a neighborhood through their fandom and grief. Some of this research was presented at FSNNA19 at DePaul University, Chicago in October 2019 and published in the Journal of Popular Culture in 2020.

There are many ways to support my work and studies:
For sustaining support, you can join my Patreon for as little as $1 a month.
You can also support me with a one-time payment, by buying me a cup of coffee on Ko-Fi.
